Welcome to a self-experiment in biased perception ;)

This is Kristin Reinbach's experiment trying to generate an appreciate view of a city she sometimes hates, sometimes loves.

So, for the next 100 days she will post 1 reason daily why she likes this city. Her hope is that at the end of the 100 days she & her husband will be able to make an informed and unbiased decision whether to stay here for some more time or not. :-)

This blog includes special "off-piste" tipps for visitors from aboard as well as people who are new in the region.

Enjoy!

What I really like in Bonn is that you get real good seafood - and at reasonably prices. This picture was taken on a business lunch I treated myself to at the  "BonnGout" and shows the remainders of a very nice seafood salad.

However, one can shop for seafood at "Fisch Meyer" and "FischStuch" for local and imported fish and seafood. So that's why we already had sardines as barbecue material rather than steaks :)

As I sit in my home-office today trying to get this blog online, my unknown musical neighbour is playing on the accordion.

Melancholic Paris glamour is floating over the roofs of the old historic centre through the windows to me...

Indeed, this nice neighbour has been pepping up some of our summer evenings on the balcony several times already.

Thanks to whoever :)

So, obviously no need to move to Paris in that regard. ;)

Tipps for travellers and "new-in-towners":
- strange as this may sound: Jazz live music is offered at the "Döner House" (Heerstraße, no webpage available) mostly on Friday nights. Live Jazz music can also be found at the "Que Sera" (opposite the Döner House) these days on Wednesdays.
- check out "Frau Holle": about 2-3 tims a month they organize small concerts in their lovely courtyard
- already quite a favorite of the int.'l community as far as I know: "the Zone". A real BAR with a character as owner, a great choice of well-chosen whiskeys, Blues music & small live concerts, too.

Help me!

Any further suggestions why Bonn is a great place - already today? I am looking forward to it & promise to give a try ;) Write to reinbach@krysalis-consult.de. Thanks!
